Bella Ramsey fears Pedro Pascal’s ‘dad’ status has ‘gone too far’

Bella Ramsey wants to check out their on-screen father figure, Pedro Pascal.

Ramsey, whose real-life friendship with Pascal became a viral sensation and helped skyrocket Pascal’s “dad” fandom, shared with Vanity Fair who are “worried” if Pascal is still enjoying making the Internet thirst trap.

“I played with it a lot in the beginning, but now I’m worried it’s gone too far,” said Ramsey, who uses their pronouns. “I don’t know if you still love him; I have to ask him.

They added, “It’s a global phenomenon as it should be, because it’s quite spectacular.”

Pascal addressed the “dad” phenomenon during a recent panel discussion with The Hollywood Reporter.

“Yes, I’m enjoying it,” she said. “(The dad thing) seems a little role-related. There was a time when the Mandalorian is very much a dad to little Grogu, and Joel is very much a dad to Ellie (in “The Last of Us”). These are dad parts. That’s who he is.

Later in the interview, Pascal talked about the ongoing fan encounters since his starring role in ‘Game of Thrones’ where his character died with his eyes gouged out.

“I remember, before, because of ‘Game of Thrones’ and the way my character died — speaking of touching — people were super into taking selfies with their thumbs in my eyes,” the ‘Mandalorian’ star said. “. “And in the beginning, I was so serious and happy about the character’s success on the show, I would have let him! And then I remember having a little eye infection.

Pascal’s ‘dad’ was a running joke throughout 2023. Pascal said on the ‘The Last of Us’ red carpet that he’s ‘your cool, slutty dad’ and even had a dad with pal Oscar Isaac, saying that “dad is a state of mind.”

And Pascal is leveraging his fan-fueled dad badge to further his intellectual career with the queer western short “Strange Way of Life,” directed by Pedro Almodóvar.

“It could have been anything he asked me to do, and I would have done it without a doubt,” Pascal said of the work with the author. “He absolutely opened up a whole world of storytelling and color and culture and rebellion and sexuality that was absolutely intoxicating, dangerous, exhilarating, heartbreaking and encompassing the entire spectrum, but with such a signature style.”
