Creator and star Robinson won an Emmy in 2022 for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series. The series was also nominated for Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series. Read IndieWire’s ranking of each sketch here.

Ben Travers of IndieWire applauded the series for being “stranger and more ambitious” in season two, featuring even more “major curveballs” than “depends on shock value” to illicit laughs.

“The sketches send you on a journey, along with these assholes, until their absurd behavior carries its own logic,” Travers wrote in their season two review. “Discovery is a key element of ‘I Think You Should Leave’s unique appeal. No matter what, Robinson pushes all of his roles beyond their one very strong note and into a larger dimension. You might even understand the sketches a little better than you care, because Robinson makes them a reality. Like so many great comedies, there is truth hidden in every sketch, and finding it isn’t something you can always do in one sitting.

Season 3 of “I Think You Should Leave” premieres May 30 on Netflix. Check out the trailer below.
