Julia Fox says her next movie will be Nepo Baby’s ‘Spring Breakers’

Julia Fox is channeling her “Spring Breakers” energy this summer.

The ‘Uncut Gems’ actress recounted Page six she is currently in pre-production on the film “Lipstick Palm,” which she co-wrote with Sara Apple. Fox described the film as “‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ meets ‘Spring Breakers,'” citing the dark comedy aspect of the drama.

“It’s about these two girls and they’re in Los Angeles,” Fox said. “They are classics. One is an aspiring actress and the other is a nepotistic child, but her father had seven children, so the pool was diluted. They are drug addicts so they are on the mend but they are always in and out. One has a sugar daddy. There’s a body involved somewhere.”

While Fox has written the script, they are not directing “Lipstick Palm,” but may be directing a feature film in the future.

“My friends always say I’d make a great dictator, but what I hope they mean is I’d make a great director,” the ‘No Sudden Move’ star joked.

Meanwhile, Fox will appear in Tony Kaye’s dark comedy “The Trainer” alongside Steven Van Zandt, Vito Schnabel, Bella Thorne, Taylour Paige, Gina Gershon, Lenny Kravitz and Paris Hilton. The film follows a fitness expert, played by Schnabel, who has an existential crisis over the course of eight sleepless nights. Fox will also star in “The Puppet,” written and directed by Adam and Chris Levett. Plus, Fox is releasing a memoir and it’s rumored that she’ll be cast as Debi Mazar in the since-shelved Madonna biopic starring Julia Garner reportedly as the ‘Like a Virgin’ pop icon .

Fox finding inspiration in “Spring Breakers,” one of the best independent films of the 21st century, comes on the heels of Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS campaign with director Harmony Korine in honor of the film’s 10th anniversary. Both Fox and Kardashian consider Kanye West an ex. Fox previously said it lost roles over her relationship with the controversial performer, admitting in November 2022, “Strangely I don’t get as many offers as I used to. There were a lot of weird setbacks in reaching that level of notoriety.
