Tenoch Huerta walks out of Netflix’s ‘Party at the Burrow’ following sexual assault allegation

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Tenoch Huerta has dropped out of the next Netflix film Party at the Den following an allegation of sexual assault by musician and activist María Elena Ríos. She has previously denied those claims.

In a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter On Wednesday, Huerta said, “Given the impact of María Elena Ríos’ recent false statements and the damage they have caused, I have no choice but to withdraw from participating in the film.” Party at the Den.’

Director Manolo Caro is directing the feature, with Huerta announced last month as the lead. It was filming this month in Guadalajara, Jalisco and Katima Mulilo, Namibia for a 2024 release. According to Netflix, it centers on “Tochtli, a guy who likes hats, dictionaries, samurai, guillotines and French . Earlier this month, Ríos accused the actor of being a “sexual predator” in a post shared on social media and claimed he had sexually assaulted her. Following the allegations, Huerta released a statement denying the claims, calling them “false and completely baseless.” The actor stated that he and Ríos had previously been in a consensual relationship that lasted for several months.

His earlier statement read in part: “Throughout it has been a loving, warm and mutually supportive relationship. After it ended, however, Elena started misrepresenting our interactions both privately and in front of groups of mutual friends. Accordingly, a few months ago, I engaged a legal team to take appropriate action to protect my reputation and refute these irresponsible and false allegations that can cause serious harm and harm.

He added: “While I’m by no means perfect, I know these allegations are simply false. And while I will always work to improve myself, I need to challenge claims that are both false and offensive.”
