‘The Fabelmans’ Breakout Chloe East In Talks For Scott Beck Thriller A24, Bryan Woods (Exclusive)

Chloe East, one of the protagonists of Steven Spielberg’s latest feature film The Fabelmansis in talks for the new A24 thriller Heretic from A quiet place creatives Scott Beck and Bryan Woods.

Beck and Woods wrote and will direct the film that follows two Mormon missionaries who attempt to convert a man who turns out to be far more dangerous than they could have anticipated. Hugh Grant is also in talks for the film.

The A24 project has a start date in July but, as with all films shot this summer, production could be affected by the possible SAG-AFTRA strike. Earlier this week, members voted overwhelmingly to authorize a potential strike if a new contract was not reached by the June 30 deadline.

The New York-based indie studio has had success with the horror-thriller genre, including the voices of Ari Aster Hereditary AND Mid summer and Ti West and Mia Goth x movie, which includes the upcoming threequel Maxxine. In a competitive situation, A24 got the hot Sundance supernatural horror title Speak with me earlier this year.

In the semi-autobiographical The Fabelmans, East played the high school sweetheart of Spielberg’s young understudy, played by Gabriel LaBelle. Past credits include series Kevin (probably) saves the world and the HBO teen drama Max Generation.

East is represented by WME, LINK Entertainment, Vault Entertainment and Felker Toczek.
