‘The Flash’ duo Andy and Barbara Muschietti secure first-run deals with Warner Bros. Film, TV (exclusive)

Warner Bros. is doubling down on its relationship with The flash director Andy Muschietti and producing partner Barbara Muschietti. The duo and their Double Dream banner have signed parallel first-look deals with Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Bros. Television Group/Max.
Muschietti’s relationship with the company dates back to his Warner and New Line days It (2017). The duo is already working on a It spin off Welcome to Derry for Maximus
The multi-year deals were announced by Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, co-chairmen and chief executive officers, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, and Channing Dungey, president and chief executive officer, Warner Bros. Television Group.

As for cinema, their three-year contract calls them to develop large-scale feature films, with the possibility of Andy Muschietti directing.

The brothers previously signed a first-look deal with WBTVG in 2021, and their new multi-year pact calls for them to continue developing television projects for all platforms, including Max.
“Andy and Barbara are singular artists whose vision and passion for Welcome to Derry it swept us away. We can’t wait for fans to see this thrilling and terrifying next! — chapter of the IT universe when it comes to Max,” Dungey said. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership and look forward to telling many more stories with them in the future.”
Buenos Aires-born Andy and Barbara who are siblings made their Hollywood debut with the 2013 Universal film Mom.
They shot to A-list director status when It became one of the highest-grossing R-rated films of all time, followed by the Muschiettis En: chapter 2 (2019) e The flashthe new DC tentpole that had multiple creative teams come and go before the duo cracked the code and brought it to theaters.
“Warner Bros. has been an incredible partner for us for years now, but more importantly, Warners has been a part of our entire lives,” said Andy and Barbara Muschietti. “We used to watch movies before we could walk, and spent our formative years as kids at the drive-in, and now we join the Warner Bros. family. Separated by their first agreement, they will also tackle the Batman movie The brave and the daringkeeping them in the DC Studios fold.
The flash is in theaters starting Thursday night and stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton and Sasha Calle. At Monday’s Hollywood premiere, Andy Muschietti noted the long wait for the film: “We thought it was never going to happen because it was a real marathon… Let’s hope it was worth it.”
