‘Yellowjackets’ debut Sophie Thatcher to star in Zach Cregger’s sci-fi thriller ‘Companion’, BoulderLight, New Line (exclusive)

Sophie Thatcher, one of the Showtime sensation breakout Yellow Jacketsgot the lead role in Companysci-fi thriller from the team behind last year’s horror hit, Barbarian.
The project has launched ahead of the hoped summer start of production and has Jack Quaid, Lukas Gage, Megan Suri and Harvey Guillén on the call sheet.
Drew Hancock wrote the original screenplay and is making his directorial debut with the feature film, with many plot points being kept under wraps. However, it is being described as standalone and Thatcher will be playing a character who is more than meets the eye.

The feature film is produced by Zach Cregger, the director who made this fast-paced film full of twists and turns Barbarianand its Barbarian fellow Raphael Margules and JD Lifshitz of BoulderLight Pictures and Roy Lee of Vertigo.
Tracy Rosenblum of BoulderLight and Andrew Childs of Vertigo will serve as executive producers.
Company was won by New Line in a horror film auction earlier this year. It was originally intended to serve as a sequel to BoulderLight and Cregger Barbarian before the director changed tracks to focus on his script, Weapons, also now casting and at New Line. But the team helped Company land not just a house but a green light of production, backing Hancock to make his directorial debut.
Thatcher is best known for playing the teenage Natalie, the younger version of the character played by Juliette Lewis, in Yellow jackets, Showtime’s acclaimed and popular survival drama. The show, which recently finished airing its second season, became Showtime’s most-watched series in six years and garnered seven Emmy nominations for its first season.
Thatcher, who also had a small role in Boba Fett’s bookis currently on screens with 20th Century Studios’ adaptation of the Stephen King story, The boogeyman.
She is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content and Jackoway Austen.
